Hamilton the Musical was the most FOMO inducing event of this DECADE, it seems like! Especially in the current political environment, we were dying to relive our history and refresh ourselves on what our Founding Fathers originally envisioned for the United States! But tickets were INSANELY expensive! We were playing the Hamilton lottery almost every day in hopes of winning $10 tickets! No luck for over a year! Here are our thoughts:
REAL TALK: Here’s a hack for those of you, like us, who don’t feel the need to spend $300/ticket to enjoy this must-watch play. We tracked Hamilton tickets on TicketMaster for a few weeks and noticed a pattern. Prices for a given (off peak) show would drop 24 hours before show time. For example, minimum prices for a 7:30PM show on a Tuesday were $140+, 48 hours before. But 24 hours before? $62! We took a look at our schedules and found a week where we had substantial flexibility in the evening and started tracking prices for those dates. In the end, we snagged two Orchestra Left (next to Orchestra Center) seats (in row N!) for $80/per person! What a steal for such great seats!
WHAT TO WEAR: We used our night out on the town as an excuse to get dressed up! Salima paired this dress (like) from H&M with blood orange red pumps from DSW. Karim dressed up his dressy casual work outfit with a grey blazer from Banana Republic.
OCCASION: Date Night / Celebrating a Milestone / Wanting to Get a Refresher on History
